Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data ShowAtlas handles and why. The data controller is ShowAtlas, contactable at showatlas@show-atlas.com.
The short version
We have no accounts and no analytics. We show ads through Google AdSense, which uses cookies and similar technologies. If you are in the UK, the EEA or Switzerland, Google sets advertising cookies only after you agree, and you can change your choice at any time with . We do not sell your personal data.
What we process
Your country preference. When you choose "My country", that choice is saved in your own browser's local storage under the key region, so the site remembers it next time. It never leaves your device and we cannot see it. You can remove it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
Your wishlist. Shows you save with the heart button are stored in your browser's local storage under the key wishlist. Like your country choice, it never leaves your device unless you choose to share your list, and we cannot see it. If you use "Share your list", the link contains only the IDs of the shows on it.
Server logs. Like almost every website, the server that delivers the site may briefly record technical details of each request: IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These are used only to keep the site running and secure (legitimate interests, UK/EU GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). They are kept for no more than 30 days unless they are needed to investigate abuse.
Emails you send us. If you contact us, we use your email address and message only to reply. Our email provider stores and processes messages on our behalf. We delete the correspondence once the matter is closed, unless we need to keep it for legal reasons.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense, provided by Google Ireland Limited (for users in the UK and EEA) and Google LLC, to show ads. To show and measure ads, and to prevent fraud, Google and its partners may use cookies and device identifiers and receive your IP address, browser details and the pages you visit on our site.
In the UK, EEA and Switzerland we use Google's certified consent tool. Advertising cookies are used only with your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and PECR regulation 6). If you don't consent, Google may still show limited ads that don't use cookies for personalisation. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time with .
Google acts as an independent controller for its own use of this data. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services, and manage personalised ads in My Ad Center.
Third parties
Fonts, images and availability data are served from our own server. Ads are loaded from Google's servers as described above. When you follow a link to a streaming service, you leave our site, and that service's privacy policy applies.
Cookies
Advertising cookies are set by Google, subject to your consent. See the Cookie Policy.
International transfers
Our hosting provider may store server logs in another country. Google may process advertising data in the United States. Where data goes outside the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension, or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. California residents have the right to know about and delete personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Personalised advertising may count as "sharing" personal information under the CCPA/CPRA. You can opt out by turning off personalised ads in My Ad Center, or by contacting us.
To make a request, email showatlas@show-atlas.com. You can also complain to your data protection authority, for example the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK or the authority in your EU country.
Children
The site is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes
We will post any changes here and update the date above.
